NTC will conduct school visits to ensure teacher compliance with the National Teachers’ Standards through compliance checks.

Pursuant to Section 83 of Act 1023, the National Teaching Council (NTC) is entrusted with the responsibility of scrutinizing teachers' licenses within educational institutions.

In line with this, the Ghana Education Service (GES) management would like to apprise you of the NTC's initiative to establish guidelines and assessment tools for inspecting compliance in schools. 


The council has meticulously chosen and trained compliance officers assigned to eighteen selected Metro/Municipal/Districts in the Ashanti, Eastern, Greater Accra, and Northern Regions.

These officers will assess teachers' adherence to the prescribed standards in the teaching profession, forming the basis for the renewal of teachers' licenses.


Considering the information provided, Regional Directors of Education are kindly urged to notify the designated Metro/Municipal/District Directors, as indicated in the attached list, regarding the forthcoming inspection. This assessment is scheduled to take place from November to December 2023
